RoadLife — Beta

Drive, explore, deliver.

Real places. Different vehicles. Your own journey.

Turn familiar roads into your own driving playground. RoadLife is a top-down driving sandbox built around real-world satellite imagery. Explore a place you know, discover somewhere new, take on delivery missions, or get behind the wheel of a city bus transporting passengers.

Enjoy a relaxed drive or give your trip a purpose. Choose your vehicle, keep an eye on your fuel, and see where the road takes you.

Explore the real world

Drive through real-world locations using satellite maps as your environment. Load nearby points of interest within 20 km to find delivery locations, fuel stations, bus stops, and other places to visit.

Explore your hometown—or start your next journey somewhere completely different.

-- Please remind that the foundation of this game rely on satalite images that are provided by ESRI or local government, depending on the requested location the quality may vary. I'm trying my best to provide the highest definition of satalite images into the game, but this will take some time, and money. --

More than just driving

  • Choose from 13 vehicles. Drive cars, off-road vehicles, trucks, a city bus, and a tractor, each with its own driving characteristics.
  • Take on delivery missions. Pick up cargo and transport it between loaded locations.
  • Become a bus driver. Stop at bus stops, open the doors with N, and watch your passenger count change as people board and leave.
  • Manage your fuel. Driving uses fuel, so plan a refuelling stop before your tank runs empty.
  • Tow and transport. Connect trailers and use the low-loader to carry vehicles (in development).
  • Drive your way. Choose automatic or manual transmission, operate lights and indicators, and explore through the day-and-night cycle.

Make it your own

Adjust vehicle settings, choose graphics options that suit your hardware, and use the map editor to place your own points of interest and object from a small assets library. Add objects like park benches, traffic cones, containers, streetlights ect.

Prefer to get a feel for the controls first? The offline test track lets you try vehicles without loading live maps.

About this beta

RoadLife is in active development! This beta is a chance to try the game, explore its features, and help shape what comes next.

Expect bugs, unfinished details, and performance differences between computers. Vehicle visuals, usability, and optimisation are still being refined. Feedback and bug reports are very welcome—especially a description of what happened, the vehicle you were using, and your PC specifications.

!!The game uses ESRI satalite data as main map source, and now only supports high quality map data of The Netherlands (PDOK). If you want to have local satalite data projected in the game you can add an API map source. If local satalite images are provided I can also implement these in the game, please let me know, this is very welcome.

Playing RoadLife

Platform: Windows 10/11, 64-bit. Installation: Run the installer, or fully extract the Windows ZIP and launch RoadLife.exe. Internet: Required for live maps, online points of interest, and internet radio. The offline test track does not require a connection.

For slower hardware, start with the Performance graphics preset and Low vehicle detail.
